Yesud's book, with the Hebrew word יְסֻד on its cover

The name

“For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon… For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.”Ezra 7:9–10 · KJV

Yesud () means “foundation; the beginning”. It appears only once in all of Scripture, in Ezra 7:9, where it is translated “began”: the chapter of the man who prepared his heart to seek the law, to do it and to teach it. That is what this app wants to be — a foundation for studying the Word.
